ACNH Fringe Artist Announcements: Game Changers!
Hi all!
4 more days until the ACNH Fringe Fest Gala Stream! It’s all coming together!
We’re starting out today with a very special international guest - one that arguably has made the biggest impact on Animal Crossing: New Horizons thus far. You know the new updates with the inclusive hairstyles? That came about thanks to a petition set up by Taniesha Bracken - and she’s coming on ACNH Fringe to talk about it!
I’ll let Taniesha describe herself in her own words:
“I am a biracial animal lover who loves pink:) I've been married to my lovely wife for 5 years and we have 2 dogs and 1 cat together (we lost our other kitty 1 week ago to old age). I spend my days working as an animal care supervisor in an animal shelter trying to save all sweet fur babies I can. I am also a foster for the sick and broken fur babies. Animal Crossing became my main hobby during this never-ending pandemic. And a huge source of joy and advocacy in my life ever since. I never thought my mediocre drawings of a couple of curly hairstyles would become so big, but I am SO grateful they did!”
As a fellow PoC player myself, I am super excited to be able to hang out with Taniesha, chat about inclusivity in gaming, and celebrate the difference people like her have made to the games world. You can follow Taniesha on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Here’s her thoughts on the inclusive hairstyles:
Next up we have cosplayer, nerd, and previous live stream guest Jenni de Gille!
Jenni came on to our stream last week to chat about her love for cosplay and nerd culture in and out of ACNH, especially this year when a lot of conventions had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. That picture up there is a sneak preview of our cosplay fashion show that’ll be a part of the Gala Stream - come by to check out the rest of her outfits!
And lastly (for today) helping us out on our stream is Miss B Cosplay!
Miss B is a 21 year old cosplayer, singer and twitch streamer and cat mum based in Sydney, Australia. Her streams are all about viewer interactivity and celebrating positivity and inclusion! You can follow her on Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok (which is where we found her!).
She will be taking the reigns for the Gala Stream while we get ready for the evening Variety Show - so do send her some love and enjoy her island time!
We’ve got two more days of artist announcements followed by the full program launch & the Turkey Day special stream on Thursday 26/11! Then we rest up until our big Gala Stream on Saturday 28/11 10am-10pm AEDT!
Get tickets now from Melbourne Fringe! It’s Choose Your Price, but if cost is a factor you can also follow along on Twitch & YouTube. There’s also an option to contribute to the artists after the stream - but you gotta tune in to find out how!
We’re so excited - I hope you are too!
